This month, we are highlighting DynaMed, a point-of-care database that provides evidence-based information on diseases, conditions, and drugs, including dosing, interactions, and adverse effects. Stay effortlessly informed with daily evidence updates as DynaMed's expert editorial team dives into thousands of journals in PubMed and clinical practice guidelines worldwide. With over 100,000 evidence and guideline summaries, you'll always have the latest insights.

Also, take advantage of tools like the EBMcalc Medical Calculator, where you can calculate medical equations, clinical criteria, statistics, units and dose conversions, and more. DynaMed's Drug Interactions Checker is another tool you can quickly access in the top navigation menu. Use it to check for potentially harmful drug interactions and information on managing the potential effects.

While you can access most of these features with a Chamberlain login, you can unlock personalized features by creating a free personal account. Features include alerts on content updates for your specialty or a chance to earn continuing education credits. Select Create Account in the upper right-hand corner of the DynaMed homepage and register today.

Have an account but not sure where to start? No problem! Below, you will learn how to log into DynaMed, search diseases and conditions, search drug information, and earn continuing medical education credits.

To log in to DynaMed, use the database shortcut link on the library homepage or select the link below. If prompted to log in, you will use the same login information you use for your classes (D# and password).

Search Diseases or Conditions

Enter a disease or condition in the search box at the top of the page. The image below demonstrates a search for chicken pox. Select the magnifying glass icon to search, and pick the result that best matches what you are looking for.

As the image below highlights, each entry will start with an overview and recommendations for the disease or condition. You can use the options in the left-hand navigation menu to find further information on topics, including epidemiology, etiology, diagnosis, and management. While this database is designed to deliver quick answers at the point of care, it also offers valuable links to primary and secondary literature, including clinical practice guidelines.

Search Drug Information

To find drug information, use the Drugs A-Z, Drug Interactions and Calculators options in the top navigation menu, as shown in the image below.

Earn CMEs

You can earn continuing medical education (CME) credits and continuing education (CE) contact hours with every search by creating a personal account. The DynaMed CME Ticker can track the credits accrued. Select Create Account in the top right-hand corner of the DynaMed homepage to start tracking.

You can find these instructions in the BSN and MPAS program guides.
