Access Pharmacy

Access Pharmacy is a comprehensive, content-rich online pharmacy resource that allows users to explore leading pharmacy references, search curriculum topics, research drugs, and supplements.

Log in

To log in to Access Pharmacy, use the database links on the library homepage or select the link below. If prompted to log in, you will use the same login information you use for your classes (D# and password).

Search

As highlighted in the image below, you can search and browse Access Pharmacy in the following ways:

  • To search, enter your keyword(s) for your topic in the search box at the top of the page.
  • To browse, use the navigation drop-down menus at the top of the page.

Create an Account

You can create an account in Access Pharmacy to unlock special features. To create your account, follow the instructions below.

  1. Select the Create a Free Profile button in the lower right-hand corner, as shown in the image below.

  1. Fill out the Create a FREE Access Profile form, as shown in the image below.

  1. Select Create Profile at the bottom of the form.

Note! It may take a while for your account to be created. So, if you are not able to access the study tools immediately, wait for a bit and try again. You must also log into your account via the institutional login to Access Pharmacy every 90 days to keep your profile active.

Use the Study Tools

After you create an account, you can use the study tools. To access the flashcards, select Study Tools from the top navigation menu and choose one of the flashcard options, as shown in the image below.

CINAHL with Full Text

The CINAHL database includes nursing and allied health literature that can be helpful for completing your assignments.

Log in

To log in to CINAHL, use the database links on the library homepage or select the link below. If prompted to log in, you will use the same login information you use for your classes (D# and password).

Search

  1. Enter your keyword(s) for your topic in the search box(es) at the top of the page. The image below demonstrates a search for heart disease AND statins.

  1. Move down the page to see the list of available filters on this search page. The image below shows the Full Text, Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals, and Past 5 Years filter options selected.

  1. After applying your filters, select Search to run your search.
  2. To narrow your results even more after your search, select the All Filters button to expand the Filters panel on the right-hand side of the page.

  1. To choose more filters, use the arrows next to the facets to expand the lists.
  2. After applying the filters, select Apply.
  3. Select a reading option (Publisher Site, Online Full Text, PDF) from the Access Now menu to access the full text of your results.

DynaMed

DynaMed is a clinical reference tool that provides monographs on conditions and diseases, including the epidemiology, etiology, management, and prognosis.

Log in

To log in to DynaMed, use the database links on the library homepage or select the link below. If prompted to log in, you will use the same login information you use for your classes (D# and password).

Search Diseases or Conditions

Enter a disease or condition in the search box at the top of the page. The image below demonstrates a search for chickenpox. Select the magnifying glass icon to search, and pick the result that best matches what you are looking for.

As highlighted in the image below, each entry will start with an overview and recommendations for the disease or condition. You can use the options in the left-hand navigation menu to find further information on topics, including epidemiology, etiology, diagnosis, and management. Although the purpose of this database is to provide quick answers at the point of care, you will also find links to primary and secondary literature, including clinical practice guidelines.

Search Drug Information

To find drug information, use the Drugs A-Z, Drug Interactions, and Calculators options in the top navigation menu, as shown in the image below.

Earn CMEs

You can earn continuing medical education (CME) credits and continuing education (CE) contact hours with every search by creating a personal account. Select Create Account in the top right-hand corner of the DynaMed homepage to get started.

Micromedex

Micromedex is a comprehensive drug database featuring information and patient education for use in clinical settings.

Log in

To log in to Micromedex, use the database links on the library homepage or select the link below. If prompted to log in, you will use the same login information you use for your classes (D# and password).

Search

You can search by Drug, Disease, Toxicology, or All (default) using the search box at the top of the page. The image below demonstrates a search for amoxicillin under All

You can also use the top navigation menu options highlighted in the image below to explore other information in the database, including drug interactions, IV compatibility, drug comparisons, and more.

NatMed Pro is an authoritative source of information on dietary supplements, natural medicines, and complementary alternative and integrative therapies.
