Credo Reference

Credo Reference consists of encyclopedias and other reference books on a wide range of academic subjects in the humanities, social sciences, and more. While these summaries may not be acceptable for an assignment, it is a good source for finding background information on humanities topics such as works of art and artists. Before you follow the instructions below, check your assignment rubric or ask your professor which sources are acceptable for your assignments. For additional information on your topic, follow the steps on the Getting Started page.

Log in

To log in to the Credo Reference database, use the database links on the library homepage or select the link below. If prompted to log in, you will use the same login information you use for your classes (D# and password).

Search

Enter your keyword(s) for your topic in the search box at the top of the page. The image below demonstrates a search for The Nightwatch.

Browse the search results for information about your topic. The image below shows the results of the The Nightwatch search. There is an Articles tab with results for encyclopedia and reference book entries and an Images tab for images only.  There is also a tab for more library resources. You can also use the options to the right of your results to explore the topic further.

Ebook Central contains thousands of eBooks from various publishers across a wide range of academic disciplines, including the humanities, social sciences, and related disciplines.

ProQuest Central is a multidisciplinary database that offers journals on all major subject areas, including business, health and medical, social sciences, arts and humanities, education, science and technology, and religion.
