In July 2023, we launched our very own chatbot, Loubot. We designed Loubot to connect you with quick answers to your questions. We understand that many of you work around the clock; therefore, to support your 24/7 access, we wanted to develop a tool to help even when we are not available.

How can I access Loubot?
You can access Loubot after live service hours by visiting our How to Get Research Help guide.
I wanted to try out Loubot. Why does it redirect me to live chat?
To stay connected with our users, we have designed Loubot only to be available when live services are offline. If you want to try out our new chatbot, please visit outside of live operation hours. Loubot will be available most days between 5 p.m. CST. and 9 a.m. CST. For more information regarding the library’s hours, please visit our How to Get Research Help guide.
Does this mean I can’t connect with a live librarian?
Don’t worry! We're not going anywhere! We are committed to maintaining our relationship and connection with all of you in the Chamberlain community. At this time, Loubot will not replace any of our live service options, meaning you can still connect with a librarian via chat, email, and appointment during our live service hours. Where did Loubot get its name?
Loubot was named and imaged after one of our library pets, Lou! Lou is the most adorable pug puppy, constantly entertaining us in the library. Many of us on the library team are proud pet owners and love our fluffy friends; therefore, we wanted to give you an inside look at one of our beloved library pets. Be on the lookout for more fun updates from Lou and maybe other library pets this year!
How was Loubot created? Is it AI-generated?
No, answers produced by Loubot are not AI-generated. We diligently reviewed incoming queries to identify common questions asked by the Chamberlain community. Those questions were then thematically sorted and placed within menu categories. When beginning a chat with Loubot, you can choose the type of assistance you are seeking from this list of menu items. Loubot will further connect you with resources to help answer your questions.
