National Medical Librarians Month

October is National Medical Librarians Month, and we’re taking this moment to shine a well-deserved spotlight on the Chamberlain Library and our team of librarians!

The Role of Librarians in Healthcare Education

Academic librarians juggle a variety of roles. Here at Chamberlain University, our medical (or health sciences) librarians specialize in supporting students and professionals in the healthcare field. To learn more about our Chamberlain Librarians, visit our About Us page.

As a virtual library, much of our work happens behind the screen, but we like to think our impact can be felt far and wide within the Chamberlain community. Our mission is to equip future nurses and health professionals with the research skills and resources they need to make confident, informed decisions in practice.

We do this by offering personalized support through online chat, email, and one-on-one appointments, as well as hosting virtual workshops designed to sharpen research skills and build confidence. We curate and organize high-quality resources, adding them to user-friendly research guides, and keep our virtual library system running smoothly by resolving any pesky technical issues that may arise.

Whether you are just getting started with research, gearing up for a practicum project, or hunting down that hard-to-find article, our librarians want to be here to support you through your journey!

How Have Chamberlain Librarians Impacted You?

This month, we want to hear from you. Has a librarian helped you through a tough assignment? Did a workshop change the way you do research? Let us know by posting a message to our Your Library, Your Voice board!
