The library is excited to join the broader Chamberlain community in recognizing the International Day of Action for Academic Integrity (IDoA) on October 15, 2025.

Academic integrity is about making ethical choices throughout your learning journey. These choices reflect your commitment to honesty, responsibility, and respect for your own hard work and the work of others. These behaviors may begin in the classroom, but the impact reaches far beyond academics. It's a daily practice that strengthens trust and accountability in our communities, both inside and outside the university.

In recognition of IDoA, a learning experience has been made available in ACHIEVE, Chamberlain's co-curricular platform! The IDoA sessions will be held live on 10/15/25 and recordings will be made available for those who cannot attend the live sessions.

Also, here are some helpful library tips to support your academic integrity.

  • Always give credit where it’s due: Whether you're writing a paper, preparing a presentation, or communicating with colleagues, patients, or clients, it's important to acknowledge the original source of any idea or information you use. Proper citation helps avoid plagiarism, uphold ethical standards and protect professional integrity.
  • Know how to cite correctly: Understanding proper citation practices is key to maintaining academic integrity. If you're unsure how to cite a source, reach out for support. The Writing Center offers a comprehensive guide on APA formatting and citation. For additional guidance on how to cite materials from library databases and use tools like RefWorks, visit our Citing Your Sources page.
  • Why citation matters beyond ethics:  Proper citation allows you to trace ideas back to the original source, verify accuracy, and discovering related studies that deepen your understanding of the topic.
  • Strengthen your search skills with librarian support: Locating quality sources can be challenging, especially when your assignment has specific requirements. Librarians are here to help you refine your search strategies and find credible, relevant materials. Visit our Get Research Help page to learn how to connect with a librarian.
