Learn to Search

Introduction

Searching in the library can be intimidating at first but it does get easier as you learn your way around the library. This guide is designed to help you locate important sources in the Chamberlain Library.

How to Search

Step by Step

1. Start from the Search Everything box on the library homepage.

2. Enter your keyword(s) into the search box. The example search statement below is looking for sources on wound care prevention in nursing.

3. After you hit Search, log into the Adtalem Sign In page with your student portal login credentials (D# and password).

4. From the search results page, use the filters under Filter Results to meet the requirements of your assignment. The example below has the Peer-Reviewed Journals, Articles, and Publication Date filters selected to only show peer-reviewed articles published within the last five years. Hit Apply Filters to update your search results.

5. Access the full text of an article from the search results by selecting Check Availability.
