Writing Assistance Overview

Academic Writer and Writer's Reference Center are two writing databases that the library subscribes to. While these databases provide helpful articles and tutorials on writing and citation, you should visit the Writing Center in the Student Resource Center for specialized help like paper review and tutoring. Links to the Student Resource Center can be found under Resources in your course. If you are unable to find it, please contact your instructor.

How to Use Academic Writer

Overview

Academic Writer is the official, authoritative online resource for proper use of APA Style. This database features a learning center with tutorials on APA and writing, a reference center where you can build and manage your citations, and a writing center where you can access APA templates for formatting your papers.

Create an Account

To use this database's features, you will have to create an account.

1. Enter the database through the link above.

2. From the homepage, select Welcome in the upper right-hand corner, and select Log in.

3. From the login page, select Create an Account.

4. Fill out all required fields on the form, and select Create Account.

Make sure you are using supported browsers, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Please do not attempt to use the service with Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, or other alternative browsers. How to Use Writer's Reference Center

Overview

Writer's Reference Center features articles covering major components of the writing process. You can use this database to help you write, research, and proofread your papers.

Create an Account

To save articles to folders, you will have to create an account.

1. Enter the database through the link above.

2. From the homepage, select Register/Log In in the upper right-hand corner.

3. In the login box, select Create New Account.

4. Enter your email address and create a password, and then select Create New Account.
